The brief

Cyberlock has made security products for about thirty years. Its digital locks worked well, but on the shelf they looked like the low-cost models around them. The company wanted a range that would stand apart through design and be easier to use.

The project began at Jacob Jensen Design's Bangkok studio in 2023 and continued at Essential Studio.

What we decided

One family. Door locks and furniture locks share one design language, with clean lines and premium materials, so each model reads as Cyberlock whatever its size or the way it unlocks.

A wave profile. On the furniture locks, a single curved profile carries the keypad, the NFC reader and the fingerprint sensor, with the handle worked into the grip.

Both hands. The door locks' architecture and mould were designed to work for left- and right-handed users alike.

What came of it

The CL-AI2 door lock won a DEmark Design Excellence Award in 2025. Essential's case study reports a 20% rise in the product adoption rate after launch.
