The brief

Divana is a Thai spa brand with sites in Thailand and Hong Kong. Its identity felt old-fashioned to the younger, international customers it wanted to reach, and the company was moving its weight from spa treatments to products. It needed one brand story and a design language that could travel.

The project began at Jacob Jensen Design's Bangkok studio and continued at Essential Studio.

What we decided

Back to nature. The strategy builds on Divana's strongest asset, reconnecting with nature, with a lighter logotype and a palette taken from natural materials.

Packaging made to last. Glass, wood and fabric that can be reused, so that Divana can work towards its goals of ending single-use packaging and taking plastic out of its products by 2030.

Footprint in the loop. Life-cycle assessments ran alongside the product design, to measure each product's impact and improve it.

The Phenomenon room fragrance collection, frosted glass with black reeds, came out of that work.

What came of it

Phenomenon won a Good Design Award (G Mark) in Japan in 2023. The new identity is rolling out across Divana's markets, and the company has announced plans to expand into ASEAN, China and the Middle East.
